Sunday Dinner with the Sheff's

Since I am obsessed with food websites especially this one, I have decided to post our Sunday dinners. Taking pics of food is one of my favorite things even though people make me feel weird for doing it - especially MLH!
Last night's dinner was DELICIOUS! A little swordfish, a beautiful corn dish and salad and of course Zin!

Dinner love ... can't wait until next Sunday. Stay tuned!!!!!!!!

Malibu MOD Squad

This morning MLH and I left Ventura to head back down to San Diego. We decided to take the scenic route through Malibu and have breakfast at Coogie's. (Jill, remember Coogie's????)

We were sitting outside waiting for our table when we saw this little toe-head girl holding the door open. Her sister lightly touched her on the head and all we heard was "STOP TOUCHING ME BELLA"! She came back up to her and smacked her again and once again the little blond started yelling at her older sister. The next thing we saw was Gabrielle Reece walking out the door with the crazy little blond! Then out of nowhere ... Laird Hamilton! Now I have seen tall women, but holy $hit she was tall, thin and holding a baby. You would never have known that she had a baby 5 months ago.

The fam started walking to their Hummer, of course, and Laird walked up to these two guys in the middle of the strip mall parking lot, carrying a Gucci baby bag, of course. It looked like he was just talking to the guys for the first few seconds ... that's when it escalated. The car started backing out and Laird was walking right next to the hood noticeably pissed off. For about 30 seconds I thought he was going to pull the guy out and kick his ass. If there was some 6 foot 3, 215lb surfer on my ass I would have $hit my pants! Were we witnessing a paparazzi moment?

Gabrielle walked over and it seemed to get better (everyone at Coogie's was totally staring). Off went the fam along with the blond screamer in their fuel efficient Hummer.

Once again ... I LOVE L.A.!

Can I take a bite out of your BFA?

Quote of the weekend!

T and I were sitting watching "The Best Week Ever" this morning. We both had our laptops and were surfing the net only halfway paying attention to the TV ... until we heard the "Can I take a bite out of your BFA"? In reference to the Tyra Banks Show of course.

We are still laughing!

The Game through MLH's Eyes

How MLH saw the game!

TREVOR TIME!

Buy me some peanutes and cracker jack ... or at least a bottle of water!

On Friday night we were the lucky recipients for Padres field level tickets! MLH and I along with the Ronnie, Celeste and the boys headed down to Petco Park. This was the boys first time at a baseball game and they were so good. Twins aren't that hard to handle ... when you have four adults distracting them.

Just after the 4th inning MLH and Ronnie went to get food while Celeste and I wrangled the boys with Cheerios, Sweet Potato Puffs and whatever else we could find in the diaper bag. I had asked MLH for a hot dog and a drink. He came back with the hot dog but nothing to drink. I was so proud that he refused to pay $4.00 for a bottle of water, $4.50 for a soda and not to mention $9.25 for a beer. We were drinkless All. Nine. Innings.

E trying to figure out this baseball thing.

E hanging out with Denis. Notice the baseball glove in his hand!

Every time I try to take a picture of A, he opens mouth, laughs and grabs the camera

Well not every time!

Now this is something to Celebrate!

Today is National Doughnut Day! How could I almost let this one slip away?

These days my favorite doughnut is from Top Pot Doughnuts in Seattle. They make amazing doughnuts and the shop has such a Northwest-y feel. Every time we are there we tend to gorge ourselves on too many doughnuts ... at least we are on vacation. In fact the last time we were there with my fav people from Seattle we got something like 10 doughnuts for four of us. NOT A CRUMB LEFTOVER!
You can get these doughnuts at Starbucks, but they don't compare. So until we plan another trip to Seattle, I shall bank my doughnut calories.

Or maybe I will eat one today...

Journal of a California Voter

Tonight I write this posting in honor of Leah. Her blog title is similar to the title of this post. She has been and will always be close to my heart and an irreplaceable friend. Love you Lee-Lee!

Bet you didn't know that today was Election Day in California? Can't blame you as I forgot until 5:15pm. It was a bit of a lame election and SD county only expects 30% voter turnout. That is downright p-a-t-h-e-t-i-c. Guess what MLH fits into the 70% who didn't exercise his/her right to vote. You know what that means ... keep that trap SHUT.

Only 5 months until the big deal election. I truly get excited about voting every.single.time.
Signing off as Leah would ...
